Dogs In Parks Policies
To keep parks clean, safe and sanitary, we ask that all patrons abide by the following THPRD rules and regulations regarding dogs:
- 10.4 - THPRD may post the exclusion of domestic animals from designated park sites during special events, when overcrowding or activities appear to limit the enjoyment or safety of others.
- 10.4.a - Dogs are prohibited in park areas designated as no-dog areas, except guide dogs per ORS 346.
- 10.4.b - A dog brought into or kept in other park areas shall be on a leash not more than 8 feet in length, or confined in a vehicle, and must be kept under control at all times.
- 10.4.c - Dog owners are responsible for the immediate removal of all solid waste deposited on any park property.
The off-leash dog park
THPRD created an off-leash dog area to serve the needs of our four-legged patrons. This dog park, located at the south end of Hazeldale Park (192nd and Prospect), is divided into multiple sections for large, medium and small dogs. In addition, water and "doggie bags" are provided. The dog park is also the site of numerous canine-oriented events. The dates and times of these events will be posted on the THPRD Web site.
Doggie Bags: If you have any questions regarding the doggie bags, please call the THPRD Maintenance Operations office at 503/629-6360.
To ensure that our parks are sanitary as well as safe, we require that patrons remove any solid waste deposited by their dogs. Plastic waste removal doggie bags, provided free by THPRD, can be found on the rules and regulations posts at most THPRD parks.
