Playground Safety
Maintenance staff visit each THPRD park at least once a week and report any visible damage or potential hazards.
All Park District playgrounds are inspected at least every month by a certified playground inspector. The playgrounds are inspected according to the guidelines and standards prescribed by the National Playground Safety Institute (NSPI) of the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA), following Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines. Any hazards are corrected immediately.
