Adaptive Programs

Healing Waters

Healing Waters is a program for those suffering from chronic conditions or disabilities. It is also designed for people recovering from injuries.

Harman has two family locker rooms with ADA access, two lifts (300-pound weight limit) and ADA stairs.

If you need assistance changing or entering the water, you must bring an able-bodied aide. The aide is granted free access to the pool during Healing Waters.

Our certified aquatic specialist will work with your prescribed exercises. We strongly suggest you talk to your doctor or physical therapist before coming to this program and get a list of recommended exercises for the pool.

We have helpful volunteers who can also assist you in the pool area as well.

This program runs from 10:30 to 11:55 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round.

You may participate in this program with a drop-in fee or fitness pass.

Fluid Moves

This program is designed for those with arthritis. It is suitable for all fitness levels and taught in the shallow end. You will work on range of motion as well as balance in this program.

Fluid Moves is offered Mondays-Fridays and Sundays from 1-1:55 p.m.

You may participate in this program with a drop-in fee or fitness pass.

Ai Chi

Ai Chi is a 30-minute water relaxation class that focuses on a series of moves. It is similar to Tai Chi but was developed as a stepping-stone to Watsu. Ai Chi is great for working on range of motion, balance and stress reduction.

The class is offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. This program is not offered June 13-Sept. 6.

You may participate in this program with a drop-in fee or fitness pass.
