Roy E. Dancer Park -- park redevelopment
Project Summary & Public Benefits
The 2008 bond beasure provided funds to redevelop the three-acre Roy E. Dancer Park. Park design is based on public input, regulatory factors and park district needs. Original plans included a hard surface loop path, access from 150th Avenue, picnic tables and play equipment.
Roy E. Dancer Park opened to the public January 2014. A grand opening celebration will take place in spring.
The redeveloped park has new pathways, a playground and forested areas enhanced and restored by staff from THPRD's Natural Resources Department.
The hard-surface trail surrounds the park’s perimeter, providing access to picnic tables and the new play equipment, which is located at the east end of the park. An easement allowed for the construction of a 100-foot boardwalk and staircase that makes the park accessible from the west, at 150th Avenue. An additional entry point at 148th Avenue provides access from the south.
Roy E. Dancer Park is located at 5915 SW Murray Blvd. in Beaverton.
