Project Summary & Public Benefits
Segment No. 1 (Merlo Road to Baseline Road) of the Waterhouse Trail will be 0.6 miles of trail joining the Merlo Road Max Station to Walker Road. Patrons will be able to use this trail to connect via different transportation methods such as the Max and Tri-Met.
Segment No. 4 (Willow Creek Park to Sunset Highway) is a small section in the Willow Creek Nature Park. This trail will cross Willow Creek and connect to Bethany Court. From there, an on-street route will allow for the connection to Segment No. 5. This segment currently has funding for the master plan design. If additional funding is available, construction will be considered.
Segment No. 5 (Sunset Highway to Joscelyn Street) of the Waterhouse Trail will connect the proposed on-street route at Sunset Highway to the Bronson Creek Trail Head, then North to Joscelyn Street. Almost 1 mile long, this trail will connect multiple neighborhoods while adding an element of nature through the Crystal Creek/Spyglass Park and Tokola Wetlands area.
West Union Mid-Block Crossing
Stoller Creek Greenway (Central Bethany Development to West) connection of the Waterhouse Trail is a community trail that will connect the Waterhouse Trail to the Rock Creek Trail. This trail is 0.55 miles long.
Construction on the Waterhouse Trail segments 1, 5, West Union mid-block crossing and Stoller Creek is complete.
