The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District Board of Directors have reappointed five community volunteers to the Parks Bond Citizen Oversight Committee.
Selected for new two-year terms were Wink Brooks, Anthony Mills, Kevin O’Donnell, Stephen Pearson and Jack Platten.
The oversight committee consists of 10 members whose purpose is to ensure the park district meets the objectives of the 2008 bond measure and uses the funds as planned. Committee members focus on delivery of overall bond measure obligations, not specific projects or activities. All members live within THPRD boundaries.
The committee reports annually on overall progress in meeting objectives. Members have the opportunity to recommend improvements in efficiency, administration or performance.
Parks Bond Measure 34-156 was approved in November 2008 by voters within THPRD boundaries. The measure provided funds for land acquisition and dozens of improvement projects focused on parks, trails, natural areas, athletic fields, and facilities.
