KINDER CLUB KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

This program offers after-school care for kindergartners Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Our goal is to provide a safe, enriching and fun environment for children where they experience stimulating and creative activities.
Our dedicated and well-trained staff offer aid in the further development of math, reading and social skills. Children are introduced to fine arts, sports, games, music, drama, science, world cultures, computers, community service and fabulous field trips. Kinder Club offers opportunities for children to focus on personal growth, self-confidence, creative exploration, and communication. The Kinder Club vans will transport students from Raleigh Park, Raleigh Hills, McKay and Vose elementary schools. Montclair students ride the bus to Garden Home and will be met by a staff member.

DISCOVERY CLUB 1st-5th Graders

Are you looking for a safe, enriching, and fun place for kids in grades 1-5 to go after school?
Come join us!! Our program develops the emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs of each child as they make new friends and explore the world. We offer cultural activities, games, community service, sports, art, dance, theater, music, science projects, fabulous field trips and more. We also provide supervised time for homework between 5 and 6 p.m. The Discovery Club vans will transport students from Raleigh Park, Raleigh Hills, McKay, and Vose elementary schools. Montclair students ride the bus to Garden Home and will be met by a staff member.

DISCO EXPERIENCE 6th-8th Graders

This program is for middle school students who need a safe and positive place to go after school.
They will have time for homework, friends, art, theater, sports, fun field trips and more. Also available is the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build self-confidence, work in the after-school store and participate in community service projects.

A special part of the Disco Experience is our Mentor Leadership Program. Available to middle schoolers at both Garden Home and McKay schools, this program's goal is to develop leadership and communication skills. Mentors have the opportunity to be positive role models, to work closely with staff to plan and lead activities and to organize community service projects and field trips for the younger kids in our program.

Students from Whitford can walk to McKay School or ride the bus to Garden Home Recreation Center.

New Discovery Club After-School Program at McKay School (Began Fall 2007)

The Discovery Club After-School Program is taking its show on the road. The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District has teamed up with the Beaverton School District to offer this same winning, enrichment-based after-school program at McKay Elementary School.

* Hours of operation are 3-6 p.m.
* Available to students in afternoon kindergarten through 5th grade.
* Raleigh Hills students are welcome and our vans will transport them to McKay School.
* Disco Middle School Program available at McKay for interested Whitford students.
* Swimming available on Fridays.

All four programs offer parents a choice of three or five days a week. Affordable and fabulous, monthly tuition also includes teacher in-service days, some early release days and holidays. Please call Garden Home Recreation Center at 503/629-6341 for pricing information or if you have any questions.
