General Information
Tennis Center History
The Tualatin Hills Tennis Center opened Aug. 17, 1978. The facility celebrated its 33rd year in August of 2011.
Our first four-court air structure opened for play Jan. 1, 1992. The second air structure, also with four courts, opened Nov. 6, 2006.
A new energy-efficient lighting system was installed in the Tennis Center in December 2003.
The Nike Tennis Championships of Oregon, hosted by the Tennis Center, celebrated its 102nd anniversary in 2010.
Tennis Center Today
The Park District owns and operates 111 tennis courts, which includes our new Tualatin Hills Tennis Center Stadium Court. These courts are located in 36 separate park sites throughout the district.
The Stadium Court opened for play in the summer of 2007. It is a joint venture of the Park District and the Greater Portland Tennis Council. The venue will be used to further grow and showcase the game.
Our summer camps for junior players have been so well received they are now a part of our annual programming.
Our instructional programs offer more than 11,000 hours of tennis lesson opportunities per year.
League play, for both adults and juniors, makes up a significant amount of our programming and adds a competitive option for our patrons.

During the last 32 years, our Tennis Center has built an outstanding reputation through high-quality facilities, maintenance, instructional programs, events, and service to the tennis community. Our goal – and challenge – is to continue to meet the evolving needs of our patrons for the next 32 years and beyond.
