The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District manages about 200 parks spanning more than 1,700 acres, about half of which are natural areas.

The mission of the Natural Resources Department is to ensure that these areas are respected, maintained, and enhanced.

The Natural Resources Management Plan has been developed as a guide to help us achieve our mission.

The plan empowers us to:
  • Manage wildlife habitat and native plant communities.
  • Restore and enhance natural areas through work with local volunteers, businesses, and organizations.
  • Advise and educate District staff and patrons about natural resource issues including wildlife, native plants, and ecological processes.
