PLEASE NOTE: Requests to drop or change a trip must be made at least two business days (Monday-Friday only) prior to the date of the trip. No credit will be applied if it is requested less than two business days in advance. Any and all expenses that have been incurred by the Stuhr Center/THPRD (admissions, transportation, etc.) are not refundable if a trip is canceled by the participant.

Reflections of Italy, April 2012

Great Pacific Northwest

August 8, 2012 (8 days)

Hop aboard Amtrak Cascades for our train experience to Seattle. When we arrive in the “Emerald City” of Seattle, we will be transferred to our downtown hotel before our welcome dinner at a local restaurant. We will spend two nights in Seattle, including breakfast at the Space Needle, a city tour featuring U of W, historic Pioneer Square plus the Chittenden Locks & Fish Ladders ending the day at the Pike Place Market.

The next morning we will board the BC Ferry bound for Vancouver Island where our final destination will be Victoria. A two-night stay will include dinner our first evening plus a visit to the Butchart Gardens, then off for a Victoria City tour featuring the inner harbor plus the imposing Parliament building constructed in 1897.

On day five we will board a ferry through the Gulf Islands en-route to Vancouver BC for a three night stay. Enjoy a Vancouver city tour that includes Stanley Park, Chinatown and Gastown. You will have a day at leisure in this great city to shop or visit the home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Next stop - Whistler Mountain train, a three hour premier rail journey from Vancouver through old growth forests, deep valleys and snowcapped peaks, seascapes and mountain views. Breakfast will be served at your seat on this magnificent ride, then we will shop, stroll and have lunch. Later a motor coach will take us back to our hotel in Vancouver with a farewell dinner to include all of our new friends. Next morning we travel back to Seattle for a train ride back to Portland. Stop by and pick up an itinerary at the Stuhr Center office.
