A partnership between the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District and Metro, Bug Fest is a celebration of invertebrates and the important roles they play in our environment. Exciting opportunities to learn about bugs will have people of all ages wanting to grow up to be entomologists.
The event combines interactive discovery stations, crafts, games, and family entertainment with a range of activities that help attendees experience the boneless/spineless creatures that keep the environment healthy. All those tiny critters (such as beetles, butterflies, bees, slugs, spiders, true bugs and ants that help recycle fallen trees, pollinate flowers and get eaten by other animals) are the real heroes of our planet.

Discovery stations
For unlimited opportunities to learn about bugs, spend some time at one of these interactive stations.
Activities

Event partner
Your elected regional government, Metro is helping to make the Portland metropolitan area an extraordinary place to live, work and play. Clean air and clean water do not stop at city limits or county lines. Neither does the need for jobs, a thriving economy and good transportation choices for people and businesses in our region. Voters have asked Metro to help with the challenges that cross those lines and affect more than 1.5 million residents in Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties and the 25 cities in the Portland region. The Metro Council provides leadership from a regional perspective, focusing on issues that cross local boundaries and require collaborative solutions. The council oversees the operation of Metro’s programs, develops long range plans and fiscally responsible annual budgets and establishes fees and other revenue measures.
