Park Improvement Volunteers

We hope you will join the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District as we work to protect and restore the natural areas in our community. Below is a list of park improvement events where we need volunteer help. New events will be added periodically, so check back for updated information.

Important Notice

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS LISTED BELOW.

We ask that volunteers bring reusable water bottles to drink from throughout the day and hope that volunteers will take this simple step to assist us in our efforts to reduce waste produced by our projects.

Those who register for any of these projects should wear long pants, old tennis shoes or hiking boots and weather appropriate clothing. Feel free to bring heavy-duty work gloves, loppers and a shovel, however tools and gloves will be provided.

Celebrate Earth Day by removing English ivy from the natural areas of Autumn Ridge Park! If possible, please bring a shovel, set of loppers, heavy duty work gloves and a re-usable water bottle to drink from throughout the event. Extra tools, gloves, snacks and and a water cooler will be provided.

Take a right onto SW Conestoga Dr. Take a right onto SW Robbins Drive and another right onto Settler Way. Jazz Up the Jenkins Estate for Comcast Cares Day

Take in the beautiful sites of the Jenkins Estate while giving back to the community! Help restore the 65-acre natural area and spread mulch throughout the gardens of the Estate and Camp Rivendale. These efforts will help prepare Camp Rivendale for the upcoming summer camp season. This camp provides recreational opportunities for children and young adults who have physical and/or developmental disabilities. The natural areas have also gotten a lot of tender loving care, so you can check out areas that have been restored and help us create some new areas to tour at the next project. A catered bbq lunch will be provided!

Address: Camp Rivendale is located on the south side of the Jenkins Estate at 8385 Southwest Grabhorn Road, in Aloha. Volunteers will meet at the octagonal shelter located at Camp Rivendale for a brief orientation before getting started. 97007 Map

Restore the Natural Areas of Barrows Park

Join New Seasons as they partner with Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District to restore the natural areas of Barrows Park! Upcoming projects will focus on removing some small patches of vinca, Himalayan blackberry and non-native trees. If possible, please bring a shovel, set of loppers, heavy duty work gloves and a re-usable water bottle to drink from throughout the event. Extra tools, gloves and a water cooler will be provided. New Seasons will provide refreshments before the start of the project, between 8:30 - 9 a.m.

Connect with nature, the community and Portland soccer to improve the natural areas of Rock Creek Greenway. Participants will tidy up trash and demolish a patch of English ivy.
