Park Improvement Volunteers

We hope you will join the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District as we work to protect and restore the natural areas in our community. Below is a list of park improvement events where we need volunteer help. New events will be added periodically, so check back for updated information.

Important Notice

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS LISTED BELOW.

We ask that volunteers bring reusable water bottles to drink from throughout the day and hope that volunteers will take this simple step to assist us in our efforts to reduce waste produced by our projects.

Those who register for any of these projects should wear long pants, old tennis shoes or hiking boots and weather appropriate clothing. Feel free to bring heavy-duty work gloves, loppers and a shovel, however tools and gloves will be provided.

Restore the Natural Areas of Nazarene Woods

Join THPRD and the Highland NAC for a community service project at Nazarene Woods! The project will focus on the removal of English ivy from the natural areas. Please bring a re-usable water bottle to drink from throughout the day. Supplies, snacks and a water cooler will be provided!

Address: Nazarene Woods is a new property located on the north side of SW 22nd Street at SW Juniper Terrace, which is just west of SW Hall Boulevard. Restore the Natural Areas of Vale Park - Cecilia's Silver Award Project

Help Cecilia complete her Silver Award Project by removing English ivy and Himalayan blackberry from along South Johnson Creek throughout Vale Park. Please bring a re-usable water bottle to drink from throughout the project. Tools, snacks and a water cooler will be provided!

Address: Vale Park runs along South Johnson Creek between Hart Road and Sexton Mountain Drive. Volunteers will meet at the trailhead located on the west side of SW Gearhart Drive, between Gearhart Court and 150th Place. This meeting location will be marked with volunteer project signs. 97007 Map

Revive Rock Creek with the Timbers!

Connect with nature, the community and Portland soccer to improve the natural areas of Rock Creek Greenway. Participants will tidy up trash and demolish a patch of English ivy.
