The Big One will be back to rock Beaverton July 26
July 02, 2014
For the ninth consecutive year, THPRD will offer Party in the Park, its largest community event of the year. This extravaganza of free fun for people of all ages happens Saturday, July 26, at the Howard M. Terpenning Complex, 158th and Walker Road, Beaverton. Most activities will occur between 11 am and 5 pm.
A major draw of Party in the Park is the Beaverton International Celebration, featuring food, music, dance, art, crafts, traditional dress and ceremonies representing the many distinct cultural communities that make their home here.
The Family Triathlon, which enables family members to swim, bike and run together, has a small participant fee to defray costs. This non-competitive activity will start at 9 am.
Exhibitors in The Classic at T-Hills pay a modest exhibitor fee, but viewing the vintage cars, trucks and motorcycles on the soccer fields behind THPRD’s Athletic Center is free. The Classic at T-Hills will run from 8 am to 4 pm.
Other attractions include a Beaverton Police K-9 Unit demonstration, giant inflatables, climbing walls, arts and crafts, and face painting as well as swimming, sports, a tennis clinic, and the THPRD Rec Mobile and Nature Mobile – all free.
