Group Programs
These hikes and guided activities are geared to small groups of up to 12 people.  They are a great opportunity for bonding with your co-workers, helping your Scouts earn a badge, or just getting your children and their friends closer to nature.

Guided Hikes
Join an experienced naturalist on an exploratory and educational hike.  The group will be led through various habitat types while the leader shares stories and experiences so the participants learn more about the natural world inside the Nature Park.

WILD INTERACTIONS HIKE (age 8 to adult)
Take a hike through the park to learn about the many connections between humans and wildlife in urban areas.  The leader will share stories about interactions in the Nature Park and in everyday urban life.
Length: 1 hour
Fee: $45 per group

BIRDS AND BEYOND HIKE (age 12 to adult)
This guided walk will give beginning birders a chance to learn effective birding techniques.  Binoculars will be provided as we explore the park in search of native birds and other wildlife species.
Length: 1.5 hour
Fee: $60 per group

WILD HABITATS HIKE (ages 6-10)
Explore the forests and wetlands of the park with a guide.  We’ll discover which animals live in which habitat and what they need to survive through fun activities and inquiry.

RANGER WALK (age 6 to adult)
Learn about a ranger’s duties and projects and get the inside scoop on the Nature Park’s many habitats
and inhabitants from a park ranger.  This is a great program for youth programs that are interested in
being exposed to jobs in conservation and biology.
Length: 1 hour
Fee: $45 per group

STORIES IN THE FOREST (ages 4-8)
The forest has been a source of wonder to people for generations.  Join us on a journey of discovery, hear some tales, and find out how you can read the forest to gather clues about the creatures living here.
Length: 1 hour
Fee: $45 per group

Hands-on Adventures
Led by skilled naturalists, these programs are great for youth groups, homeschool groups or after-school clubs.  Children will get a hands-on opportunity to watch birds with binoculars, track animals,
and investigate the mysteries of the Nature Park.

FOR THE BIRDS (ages 7-11)
Discover what makes a bird a bird, what they need to survive, and where they live in this egg-citing
program.  Participants will find out first hand as they examine bird specimens and use binoculars on a short “birding” expedition into the Park.
Length: 1.5 hours
Fee: $60 per group

COYOTES, DEER AND SQUIRRELS OH MY! (ages 7-11)
This program is a great way to learn about the park’s mammals.  You’ll touch furs and bones, take
a hike into the park, and discover some of the clues that our furry friends leave behind.
Length: 1.5 hours
Fee: $60 per group

BUG SAFARI HIKE (ages 5-13)
Head out on a trek to discover some of the coolest and smallest residents of the Nature Park.  We’ll search for spiders, centipedes, and other spineless creatures using magnifiers and nets.  Program is available April through October.
