THPRD OFFERS THREE SEASONS OF BASKETBALL: SUMMER, WINTER AND SPRING

SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE: THPRD Summer League is open to girls and boys who will be in grades 6-8 in the upcoming 2008 - 09 school year. Players need to attend a Beaverton School District #48 school or reside within THPRD boundaries. League games will begin in July and continue through August. Team registration packets are available online or at the Athletic Center, 15707 SW Walker Rd., Beaverton. Individuals not currently on a team can call the Athletic Center and place their name on the interest list. This interest list is made available to coaches who need players to fill their team roster. Deadline to register a team is Monday, June 16, 2008.

SUMMER SKILLS TRAINING: A Basketball Skills Training Program will be offered to girls and boys who will be in grades 6-8 in the upcoming 2008 - 09 school year. This summer program is scheduled for July and August. The purpose of the program is to allow players to meet new players from their middle school, teach them the rules of the game, improve fundamental skills and to have fun. Players need to attend a Beaverton School District #48 school or reside within the THPRD boundaries to be eligible. Registration and medical consent forms are available online or at the Athletic Center, 15707 SW Walker Rd., Beaverton. Space is limited to 20 players per session so hurry and register today! Deadline to register is July 21 or until session is full.

THPRD MIDDLE SCHOOL WINTER BASKETBALL LEAGUE: THPRD's Middle School & Metro Junior Basketball

Leagues are open to girls and boys in grades 6-8 and attending a Beaverton School District #48 school or residing within THPRD boundaries.

Registration for youth basketball will happen during October and early November. Each middle school will host at least one registration session following a parent orientation (PAYS meeting). If your child (or one of his/her siblings) did not participate in the THPRD basketball program last year, at least one parent must attend a PAYS meeting. A list of PAYS meeting dates and times will be available at the middle schools, the THPRD Athletic Center, and online beginning in mid to late September. Practices begin in November followed by league games running January through mid-March.

Organizational meetings and tryout process meeting for the 2008-09 season: Two organizational meetings will be held for prospective coaches interested in coaching in the THPRD Middle School and Metro Junior programs. Anyone interested in registering a team into the league or who wants to learn more on how to join a team can attend the September 10, 2008 or October 8, 2008 organizational meeting at 6 p.m. in the Peg Ogilbee Dryland Training Center, 15707 SW Walker Road, Beaverton. The tryout process meeting will be held immediately following the October 8 organizational meeting at 7 p.m.

SPRING BASKETBALL LEAGUE: THPRD Spring League, held in April and May, is open to girls and boys in the grades 5-8 of the current school year. Players need to attend a Beaverton School District #48 school or reside within THPRD boundaries. Registration for the next spring season will be in February 2009.
