ALERT: In June of 2023, Washington County began construction to widen SW Walker Rd and NW 158th Ave adding new vehicle lanes, bike lanes and a widen multi-use sidewalk. The county has set up a detour for drivers entering THPRD’s Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex from SW Walker Rd. There will be temporary interruptions to the south entrance on NW 158th Ave. The Schlottman Ln and NW Schendel entrances will not be impacted. The county’s work includes grading, some tree removal, relocating utilities, paving and new plantings. The county expects to complete the project in December 2024. To learn more and contact the county with questions about the project, visit Washington County’s project web page.

Description
This 92-acre recreation complex, named for former THPRD General Manager Howard M. Terpenning, is the crown jewel of the park district.
Located at SW 158th Ave. and SW Walker Rd., the complex includes the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center, Aquatic Center, and Tennis Center, as well as numerous outdoor tennis courts, baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, one of THPRD’s two skate parks, and an outdoor roller hockey rink.
Two covered play areas, one for younger children and the other for older children, can be found between baseball fields on the south end of the complex.
Paved trails are located throughout the campus, and a soft surface trail meanders through a 10-acre natural area on the east side of the complex.
