What does it cost to join THPRD?
THPRD covers all fees to join, so there is no direct cost to you. However, once a property has been annexed into THPRD, the owner of the annexed property would be responsible for paying property tax to the district. THPRD's permanent operating property tax rate is $1.3073 per $1,000 of assessed value. Additionally, in fiscal year 2023/24, the district's 2008 bond measure tax rate is $0.2766 per $1,000 of assessed value (THPRD expects the bond measure tax rate will be retired after June 30, 2029).
The current average assessed value of property within THPRD's boundary is $303,021. The annual estimated property tax bill for annexing a home with an assessed value of $303,021 would be $479.95 per year or $39.99 per month.
Can I change my mind after I join?
In each program cycle, applicants will be provided an opportunity to withdraw their Voluntary Annexation application before the application period closes.
