Project Summary & Public Benefits
The parking lot at Sunset Swim Center has been converted to a pervious concrete surface. Pervious pavement allows water and other liquids to seep through, thus reducing stormwater runoff.
Pervious pavement also improves water quality because it keeps oil and other vehicle drippings from running directly into stormwater drains and subsequently into the water supply. Instead, rainwater and contaminants are filtered as they move through the concrete, and then by the ground underneath.
Upgrades to landscaping, sidewalks, curbs and driveways were also included in this project.
Project Budget
$161,000
