Summer Volunteer Opportunity

Leaders In Training Experience

Our Leaders In Training Experience (LITE) program is a volunteer workshop in which teens (14 – 17 years of age) develop the necessary leadership and communication skills to volunteer at our summer camps. Volunteers are coached in camp safety, volunteer expectations, group dynamics, age appropriate learning and lots more. They gain valuable work experience, earn school community service requirements and have lots of fun!

The LITE Program is CLOSED FOR 2012.
We hope you revisit this site in February 2012 for application information.

Safety Town (Ages 12-15)

Responsible, enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help provide a safety education program for preschool children.

Volunteers lead a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, songs, outdoor and other recreational activities that are designed to teach children 4-6 years of age how to be safe while still having lots of fun!

Volunteers gain valuable work experience while developing leadership skills and increasing student community service hour records!

The Safety Town Program is CLOSED for 2012. Please revisit our website in March 2012 for the application.

Our minimum age requirement for youth is 12. However, many positions require volunteers to be 14 or 16. Youth under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. Activities include event setup and break-down, parking support, registration and information booth, volunteer team leader, food services, face painting, amateur photography and other projects. Adult volunteer opportunities are open to individuals 18 years or older. Many of our programs (those working with children or those with special needs) require background checks.\

Groups: Scouts, church groups, clubs, school organizations are all welcome to support summer events and activities throughout the community. For group events, one adult must accompany every five volunteers under 14. All volunteers under 18 must bring a volunteer application signed by a parent or guardian.

Team building: Involve your corporate team in the community. Choose from gardening or adopt-a-plot programs, hosting work parties to restore native habitat, staffing the summer Concerts in the Park series, or Summer Celebration Concert, and serving the community in many other leadership roles. Our staff coordinates all logistics, materials, supplies and tools needed for these special team-building projects.
