In order to begin construction that will bring a variety of improvements to Cedar Hills Park, the park will be closed starting Jan. 8, 2018 except for a pedestrian pathway from William Walker Elementary School to Cedar Hills Boulevard.

More than 30 residents recently participated in three community conversations designed to give neighbors and park advocates an active voice in the planning for a new 2.5-acre neighborhood park in Aloha.
Construction on SW 175th Ave. will restrict access to Winkelman Park, July 5-Aug. 25. The road will be open to neighborhood residents and Winkelman Park users, but traffic delays may be lengthy.
Bridge repair to slow down trail users at Commonwealth Lake

Maintenance on the west end bridge at Commonwealth Lake Park will occur July 17-28. During the project, the park and the loop trail remain open, but the bridge will be closed; visitors will be unable to walk the loop.

Looking for free summer fun? For the 13th consecutive summer, THPRD will stage free concerts at neighborhood parks across its 50-square-mile service area. The first of four shows is Thursday, July 6, at Bethany's Pirate Park.
Play area at West Sylvan Park to reopen this summer

THPRD plans to invest in the repairs and reopen the play equipment at West Sylvan Park this summer; a public survey helped the district determine how to proceed with safety improvements at the park.
A Washington County construction project on and around SW 175th Ave. is now underway. This project will include moving the Winkelman Park entrance to the North end of the park. Access to the park will be challenging, but the park will remain open.

New play equipment will be installed this summer at Burntwood Park. This equipment, designed with kids age 2-12 in mind, replaces equipment recnetly removed because it no longer met safety standards.

THPRD is making plans to remove an aging playground from Burntwood Park. This playground, which is about 30 years old, is in a state of disrepair and no longer meets the current safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

On Sept. 20, THPRD and the Tualatin Valley Water District celebrated the reopening of Ridgewood View Park. In addition to a new reservoir and pump station, the site will include tennis, pickleball and bocce courts.

2016 bond projects feature community park, synthetic turf, trail link

THPRD's ongoing implementation of the 2008 bond measure includes three major projects scheduled for 2016, including the development of a 21.5-acre community park in Aloha.
The deck boards on the Hideaway Park bridge will be replaced this month. The project will begin on March 23 and is expected to be completed by March 30.
