Evelyn M. Schiffler Park -- park redevelopment
Project Summary & Public Benefits
This project calls for redeveloping this existing community park near downtown Beaverton. The 2008 bond has allowed THPRD to draw a master plan for the 10-acre Schiffler Park for the first time ever.
The master plan includes many new and updated additions such as play equipment with natural surfaces and textures, two picnic areas, pathways, gardens, athletic areas, a basketball court, a skate spot and a pavilion.
The new pavilion fulfills a recent Land and Water Conservation Fund grant award.
Because the park also envelops a wetland, habitat restoration will occur, as will construction of wetland overlook areas.
Evelyn M. Schiffler Park opened to the public January 2013
The 10-acre site in central Beaverton features over 1/2 mile of paved walkways and a boardwalk that surround a two-acre wetland area with restored habitat and overlooks for better views. Other amenities include play equipment, two picnic shelters, community gardens, a basketball court, and a skate spot.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please contact us using the THPRD Web contact form.
Evelyn Schiffler Park is located at 5495 SW Erickson Ave. in Beaverton.
